Smackdown Live WWE opened with the still photos of the match between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles during the World Championship title at TLC 2016. Ellsworth was also shown when he turned on Ambrose. The night kicked off with AJ Styles talking about his victory over Ambrose. He was seen with the foot injury and said that he will not compete with Ellsworth tonight. Out of nowhere, James Ellsworth comes out and demands his match. But AJ reminds him how he turned on Dean and this won’t be going well for him. Dean Ambrose came in and pinned Ellsworth with dirty deeds and then goes back in style.
Two Title matches were announced during the Smackdown live WWE and one of them was kept for the main event.
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships Match: Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno
This was another chance for the previous champions Slater and Rhyno to win back their titles after losing to the Wyatt’s at TLC 2016. Though they tried hard on Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt starting off with Randy. The duo managed to keep Orton down but that was not enough to put the Viper down. Bray Wyatt tackled Rhyno in his way with clothesline and punches. Rhyno on other hand was quite hard for the Wyatt. In the end, Bray Wyatt threw Slater for an RKO’s and Orton covered him for the win and is still the tag team champions of Smackdown live WWE.

Carmella vs. Natalya
Ever since Carmella said that it was Natalya who attacked Nikki Bella from behind. Natalya was all over with Carmella. During the Smackdown live WWE divas match, Carmella was attacked by Natalya from behind, but she slapped Natalya and ran backstage. The match ends in a no contest, while Natalya tried to convince Nikki that it was not her who attacked her. Nikki rushes away with a heavy breath.

The Ascension vs. the Hype Bros
The rivalries between these tag teams have been seen for a pretty long time in Smackdown live WWE. But the Hype bros were not that easy to handle. Viktor knocked Mojo Rowley but Mojo kicked him away, while Konnor rips Zack Ryder on the apron. The wastelands guys tried to pin the Hypes with wasteland slams but the duo pinned them with the full nelson slam to win the match.

During the Miz TV, Daniel Bryan announced an Intercontinental Championship Match between Dean Ambrose and The Miz at the Smackdown live WWE main event.
Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin
Another chance for Kalisto came to settle the scores when he was put against Baron Corbin. He previously mentioned in an interview at Smackdown live WWE, that he is quick and ‘speed kills’. Kalisto in the initial stages of the match proved that he is not that easy to get. The swinging kicks and DDT got Corbin onto the back foot. Kalisto tried for a Moonsault but it turned out to be an End of Days from Baron Corbin. Baron covered him for the win.

Tyler Breeze w/ Fandango vs. Chad Gable w/ Jason Jordan
Chad Gable started the things when he gave a monkey flip to Tyler Breeze. Then Breeze came over with a kick to his face after Gable is distracted by Fandango. Breeze tried to keep Chad to the floor but he kicked back into the match with onslaught kicks and punches. Fandango again tried to interfere but tasted belly to belly suplex from Jason Jordon. Inside the ring, Gable pinned Tyler with a double suplex for the win.

Alexa Bliss celebrated her championship win during the tonight’s Smackdown live WWE, but Becky Lynch entered and asked for a rematch. Alexa quickly retreated back from the ring.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match – Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (c) w/ Maryse
Dean Ambrose got another opportunity to win a title and this time again, James Ellsworth disrupts the final celebrations for the WWE superstar. Dean Ambrose fought extremely hard against the Miz, but his wife interfered in between only to save him during the final assault made by Dean. During the final moments of Smackdown live WWE, Ambrose was on the verge to win the match but, Ellsworth came out again and made Ambrose furious. Miz took the advantage and pinned Ambrose and retained the title.
