Dinesh Vijan’s debut directorial, Raabta movie starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon was earlier slated to release in February 2017. The film’s release has now been postponed to June, 9th next year.
Sushant-Kriti Sanon’s ‘Raabta’ is one of the most awaited romantic films of 2017. And being a romantic film, one would have obviously expected the film to hit the big screens around Valentine’s Day. And the plan was almost finalised to release the movie on 10th February 2017.
Why is Raabta movie delayed to June instead of February release?
This was going alright before Akshay Kumar decided to jump in with the sequel of ‘Jolly LLB.’ With the Huma Qureshi and Annu Kapoor starrer ‘Jolly LLB 2’ booking its meet with the audiences on the same date as well, the makers of ‘Raabta’ were left with no other choice than to postpone their flick.
With no release yet booked for 16th June, Raabta has two weeks before the big release, Salman Khan starrer Tubelight which will hit the theatres on 23rd June.
And now, Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut will be hitting the big screens on 9th June 2017 [A week after another of Kumar’s flick (‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’) hits the big screens.]
This is the first time Sushant and Kriti have been paired together and their chemistry is being highly appreciated, considering the news of their link up off screen.
Raabta has been produced by Vijan’s Maddock Films and Bhushan Kumar. The movie has been shot at locations such as Budapest, Mauritius and Punjab.
