US travel ban: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday commented on the travel ban on seven countries imposed by Donald Trump while he attended the African Union Summit in Xinhua. He said that it “is not the way to best protect the US or any other country”.

He also hoped for the ban to be lifted as soon as possible.

“In my opinion, this is not the way to best protect the US or any other country in relation to the serious concerns that existed about the possibility of terror infiltration…I don’t think this is very effective way to do so.”

-Antonio Guterres

“What was lacking was a capacity to have a comprehensive approach to the problem…(it is important to review) the very dramatic situations the refugees are facing when they have no chance to reach protection…And I think this measure should be removed sooner, rather than later”, he added.

“Refugees feeling conflict and persecution are finding more and more borders closed and increasingly restricted access to the protection they need and are entitled to receive, according to international refugee law.”

Lately, Donald Trump has been making many claims about refurbishing the US with his administration. Donald Trump’s US travel ban imposed on the seven countries came as a huge blow for some. Many travellers have been stranded due to the ban imposed. While the majority is against this ban, some of Trump supporters stand by his side in his decision and consider it worth it. Whilst the hassle and mammoth protests continue in the country, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has welcomed the stranded travellers and refugees.

Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!

If the ban were announced with a one week notice, the “bad” would rush into our country during that week. A lot of bad “dudes” out there!

Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world – a horrible mess!

Fighting #terrorism is a priority, but discriminatory #travelban to #US on the basis of religion or race only makes matters worse

Trump’s overnight #TravelBan is the American version of Modi’s #NoteBandi. Must note how many worthies come out to defend the madness.

This is like a Hollywood film were you see the villain #PresidentTrump in power flexing his muscles against the innocent. #travelban #CNN
