Union Budget 2017: Trinamool Congress has decided to stay away from the parliament during its session on February 1 when the budget is to present said MP Derek O’ Brien to media on Monday.
Saraswati Puja is the reason of the absence of TMC leaders in parliament. O’Brein said, it is a socio-culture festival and there is a custom to keep away from work on the day of the puja.

While answering the question about missing the all-party meeting convened by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday evening, for the presentation of the budget, O’Brien said that Mamata Banerjee had attended the meeting some 10 days ago. When qustioned O’Brein that are they just skipping these proceeding or boycotting? He said that it is left to the public interpretation.

It is worth mentioning here that, the party has upset over the arrest of its two MPs in connection with Rose Valley Group chit fund scam by the CBI that they have claimed and accused the Central government of planning.
CBI has arrested the controversial Sudip Bandhopadhyay and Tapas Pal in alleged relation to the chit and fund scam and TMC has expressed its displeasure over it.
TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata banerjee had earlier protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move. She also accused him of deployment of army personnel in the state without intimating the state administration for which the centre government cleared her that it was mere routine.
