Army Grievance Redressal Mechanism: Taking into account the complaints of army soldiers, the central government has announced its plans to set up a grievance cell for providing relief to the aggrieved army personnel. As told by the Ministry of Defence, a new grievance redressal machinery will be built since the government feels that the current set-up is inadequate for solving the problems of the army personnel at the various levels of the army.

Army Chief Bipin Rawat had said, he said, “There are proper channels in place for the jawans to put across their grievances. If they are not satisfied with the action taken, they can contact me directly instead of airing their problems.”
He has also said that publicising the grievance on social media is a punishable offense and strict action will be taken against the official who does this. The use of mobile phones is also not allowed while on duty.
“A few of our friends have taken to social media to speak about their complaints. This affects the soldiers deployed at the borders”, he added.
Under the new grievance redressal mechanism, the grievance will first reach him, and the name the grievant will not be revealed.
After the BSF soldier Tej Bahadur Yadav, many other army soldiers aired their grievances. The soldiers have complained about the bad quality of food provided to them, the way they are treated and for fewer remunerations and facilities.
