Uttar Pradesh: Unknown persons in Hatras, Uttar Pradesh was allegedly kindled three meat shops which have triggered panic in the area, said police on Wednesday.
Government ordered to shut-off the slaughter houses
The incident occurred hours after some slaughter houses were being sealed in the state by the BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath who has sworn in on Sunday.
The incident was taken place in Manyawar Kanshiram Colony on Tuesday night, said police. The shop owners said all their stock was charred in the fire.
“Unidentified persons set ablaze three shops selling fish and meat. An FIR has been registered against them, ” said Dilip Kumar Srivastava, the Hathras SP.
10 slaughter houses running illegally has been sealed
Bharatiya Janata Party which has gotten landslide victory in UP in the assembly elections, had announced to shut –off all slaughter houses in its manifesto which would take stern steps to close down all illegal slaughterhouses besides banning mechanized slaughterhouses” if it comes to power.
A slaughterhouse, which was allegedly being run illegally, was sealed by the district authorities in Kamalgadha locality. Officials claimed that the slaughterhouse had been shutdown 2012, but it continued to operate in a clandestine manner. 10 meat shops and four slaughter houses which were allegedly running illegally in the city had also sealed by the Ghaziabad Police.
