Will Smith and family came in autumn-colored costumes to support Will Smith at the launch of his latest film.
Will Smith was surrounded by his loved ones during the premiere of Emancipation. Will, 54, attended the red-carpet event with his entire family on Wednesday at Los Angeles’ Regency Village Theatre. This is his first film since the Oscars fiasco in March.
The family was dressed in autumn-colored clothes. Will dressed similarly to his son Trey, in a burgundy tuxedo with a bright pink undershirt. Will’s 30-year-old daughter with ex-wife Sheree Zampino wore a dark purple sports coat and a lavender t-shirt.
Jaden, 24, matched his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and sister Willow by wearing a tuxedo with black-and-white picture prints. Will’s wife, 51, wore an oversized white turtleneck dress with matching jewelry. Their daughter Willow, 22, wore a black skin-baring dress with silver embellishments.
Will made his latest public appearance to promote his new film, which will be released in select cinemas on December 2 and will be available globally on Apple TV+ on December 9.
On Monday, he went on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah for an interview, during which he revealed he “just lost it” when discussing the time he smacked Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife at the 94th Academy Awards.
“There are many nuances and complexities to it, you know, but at the end of the day, I just — I lost it, Will Smith stated. Adding to this she said, “I guess what I would say, you just never know what somebody’s going through.”
He also said, “You just don’t know what’s going on with people,” he continued. “And I was going through something that night.”
Will plays Peter in Emancipation, a man whose escape from slavery causes him to rely on “his wits, unshakeable faith, and deep love for his family” as he flees slave hunters and travels through Louisiana on his way to freedom.
The upcoming film is based on “the 1863 images of ‘Whipped Peter,’ obtained during a Union Army medical checkup and originally published in Harper’s Weekly,” according to the synopsis.
