Eight persons were allegedly gang-raped a 28-year-old woman in Amboli on Monday late night. According to police, the woman went out for searching with her husband when the incident is suspected to have taken place at the residence of a broker. Well, the police have arrested seven accused and still is looking for the eighth one. The victim is now out of danger and under observation.
Incident happened when she was coming back to her house
Mumbai police spokesman DCP Ahok Dudhe in a statement said that women and her husband were looking for a house in a slum area in Andheri West. The incident happened when they were stayed back at their house after hunting for houses in a Shamnagar slum. It was here that eight persons from the area are suspected to have gang-raped the woman.
Police investigation in going on, checking CCTV for technical assistance
He further said that the victim is stable and among eight accused, one has a prior criminal record. All are accused are between the age of 20 to 25.
An officer from Amboli police station said that they will be produced them to the court today to seek their custody.
“We will be seeking their custodial interrogation to find out who hatched the conspiracy. We will also be checking CCTVs in the area and will seek technical assistance,” said an officer from Amboli police station.
The police said that they have leads on the eight accused and should be able to arrest him soon.
