The previously leaked or to say rumoured details about Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4’s India launch started to cool off and another leak has kicked it into action. The new rumour mill suggests that the company could launch its new smartphone Xiaomi Mi Note 4X in Indian really soon. In the previous leak, it was expected to launch the successor to Redmi Note 3 in India sometime in January.

As per the rumours, the smartphone is named as the Redmi Note 4X and is said to be a spruced up version of the purported Redmi Note 4 that will also launch in India ‘soon’.

Rumoured Xiaomi Mi Note 4X Specifications:

The leak reveals the phone will run a Snapdragon 653 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Rest of the specifications are expected to be similar, like the display size, camera sensor and other features.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in China with MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. But Xiaomi isn’t permitted to sell its MediaTek-based devices in India owing to an ongoing tussle with Ericson in the country.

So it is expected to come with a Snapdragon 625 chipset, with 2GB and 3GB RAM options and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options. A 4GB variant was also expected in the leaked reports, and it could be the Note 4X it talked about.

Announced in October this year, Snapdragon 653 is among the next generation of chipsets built on the 14-nm process, having more powerful and power efficient A73 cores along with A53 cores combined in big.LITTLE architecture. It supports dual channel memory (which explains 4GB RAM), faster Adreno 510 GPU, X9 LTE, and Bluetooth v4.2.

The Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080p resolution and 2.5D curved glass. It packs a 4,100mAh battery and will be available in gold, grey and silver colours.

Both the phones are expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with MIUI 8 out of the box but upgradable to Android Nougat 7.0 soon after as the company already testing the beta version for its latest Mi devices.

In China, the 16GB variant of Redmi Note is priced at CNY 899 (approx Rs 9,000) while the 64GB variant sells for CNY 1,199 (approx Rs 12,000). This has remained the price bracket for Redmi Note phones in India since the beginning and the Redmi Note 4 is also expected to carry a similar price tag.
