Ron Glass was born as Ronald E. Glass in Evansville, Indiana in the year 1945. He started his career on small screen in 1970, before that, he was an onstage actor at Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Glass was part of famous 70’s classic dramas like All in the family, Sanford and Son and Hawaii Five-O. His famous role came in 1975 where he played Barney Miller (a detective). The famous cop comedy/drama show became the box office breaker for next seven years.

Ron Glass played a role of Shepherd Derrial Book in Joss Whedon’s cult western sci-fi TV series, Firefly. The show made Glass an icon in the Greek community during 2000’s.
