Michigan Vote Recount: A Federal US Judge has asked the state officials to begin recounting US Presidential election votes for Michigan and declare the results by December 13. The Green party Presidential nominee Jill Stein said that her motive behind the persuasion of the recount of votes is not to alter the results but to ensure that the results are accurate.
Michigan Vote Recount results will be announced by December 13
Judge Mark Goldsmith has asked the state officials to gear up the recount process and any delay would not be tolerated as Stein had argued that there is a likelihood of an “irreparable harm” if the process is delayed, thus, the court has rejected the state’s argument regarding the cost to taxpayers.
The Republicans’ Attorney General Bill Schuette had said that Stein’s request for the recount should not be considered by the court since she was not a close contender in the polls and hence was not “aggrieved”. Stein had received 1 percent of votes in Michigan polls.
Jill Stein also wants the recount process to be initiated in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. She has further said that she suspects irregularities in the vote count in these three states and if the same is proved after the recount, that would indicate tampering into the counting of votes through a ‘cyber attack‘.
In the three states, Donald Trump had emerged as the winner and even if Hillary Clinton gains lead after the recount, she wouldn’t have a chance to be elected as the President.
