Anna Hazare files PIL: Social Activist Anna Hazare has filed a PIL in Bombay high court demanding a CBI inquiry against NCP president and former Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar and his nephew and former irrigation minister Ajit Pawar into a corruption case. Anna allegedly blamed Pawars of playing a role in a 25000core sugar cooperative factories scam.

Seeking CBI investigation, Anna has filed two civil PIL and criminal PIL. On January 6, criminal PIL will be heard by the court. Hazare alleged that Pawars committed the fraud during UPA government when they were ministers by first burdening sugar cooperative factories with debts and thereafter selling these sick units at a throwaway price.
Hazare mentioned in his petitions that the scam has caused a loss of Rs 25,000 to the government, Cooperative sector and members of the public. In the petition, he demanded an inquiry by a Special Investigation Team to find out the role of politicians in the sugar cooperative scam.

He also demanded through petition a CBI inquiry into the alleged corruption as well as the misuse of government and cooperative funds in financial exchanges of cooperative sugar factories. Anna Hazare claimed the information has been out through RTI which he demanded.
