Two new apps launched by govt: The road transport and highway ministry is all set to launch two new mobile apps – e-challan and m-parivahan for the greater convenience of the travellers and the law enforcing agencies as well.
The traffic law enforcement system is said to be better administered once these apps are launched. There will be a number of user-friendly features covered under these apps. With the coming of e-challans, the traffic laws will be easily regulated and the traffic will be more sorted as well. The new apps will join the list of already existing two apps ‘Vahan’ and ‘Sarthi’.

“It will provide improved transparency by connecting all stakeholders through a common system and ensuring data integrity. It will also provide ease of operations, efficient monitoring through digitisation of records that will enhance the visibility of the offenders; and overall better traffic management”, Road and Transport ministry said in a statement.
“If a vehicle number is entered into the app, it will give full details of the car and the owner including his DL and RC. This will provide a way to check the genuineness of a vehicle and driver, help in passenger safety when hiring a driver or when buying a second-hand vehicle.”
Apart from this any accident, traffic rule violation or road mishap can be easily reported through this app with or without revealing their identity.
Many of the transport related services will be easily provided through the m-Parivahan app. A virtual driving license and the registration certificate will also be available on the app by the back-end connection to the Transport National Register.
For making use of this app, the individual should be registered with the app which can be done through an Aadhar-card based OTP.
