Pakistani Social Media sensation Qandeel Baloch was murdered by her brother in Multan on Saturday.
Ms. Baloch, 26, recently caused controversy by posting controversial pictures of herself on social media, including one alongside a Muslim cleric.
And police say her brother strangled her because she was not willing to remove her Facebook posts and videos.
Her parents told to The Express Tribune that she was strangled to death on Friday night when she was arguing with her brother who was asking her to remove her pictures and videos from her Facebook Account. And when she refuses it he killed her to protect the family honor.
The Express Tribune, quoted the Regional Police Officer as saying:
“Baloch was killed by her brother over honor in Muzaffarabad’s Green Town. It appears that she was strangled to death.”
The same report also quoted the family sources of Qandeel as saying:
“Qandeel’s brother had asked her to quit modelling and he had been threatening her about uploading pictures and videos on social media.”
Let me tell you that from last few days she was receiving death threats and was looking for security for herself.
She had told The Express Tribune in one of her interviews:
“I know I will not be provided security and I am not feeling secured here so have decided to move abroad with my parents after Eidul Fitr.”
Just let me tell you that Qandeel Baloch was the Poonam Pandey of Pakistan. She always stay in controversies and news because of her bold videos and statements that she frequently posted on various social media platforms. If you remember once she also posted a video about Indian Prime Minister Narender Modi.
She was first noticed during the World T20 tournament, where she had promised to strip for Pakistan cricket team’s captain, Shahid Afridi, if Pakistan will win the match. However, after Pakistan lost to India, she became a fan of Virat Kohli.
