AAM Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal may out of the polls as the Income Tax department has asked Elections Commission to cancel its party status for misleading audits on donations worth Rs 27 crore.
AAP filed fake and fabricated audit reports on donations, says I-T
According to HT report saying, that I-T department accused AAP of filing fake and fabricated audit reports on donations amounting to Rs 27 crore. The report came hours before assembly elections in Goa and Punjab where Arvind Kejriwal has major chances of victory.
AAP accused BJP for the allegation on fake audit report
The Income Tax department said the “false and fabricated” audit reports were filed in 2013-14 and 2014-15 and hence “the registration of AAP as a trust and as a party could be revisited and cancelled”.
On the other hand, AAP has blamed Bhartiya Janata Party for the allegation and dubbed it. And termed it a dirty trick by the BJP just 48hours before voting in both Punjab and Goa.
As per Income Tax department report, Rs 20.5 crore donations to AAP our of Rs 50.6 crore shown by the party in 2013-14 and Rs 6.5 crore in 2014-15 are from suspicious sources.
