Money Heist, a tremendously successful Netflix series in Spain, is full of twists and turns. Money Heist became an instant global success after Netflix purchased the rights to the crime series. In a recent interview with Collider, actress Rsula Corbero said that the series’ rapid success was reflected in the millions of followers she and the rest of the cast received following the series’ release on the streaming site. Because of the growing popularity, the already completed part 2 was expanded to a part 3, then a part 4, and now a part 5. Part 4 of the series saw a lot of action, and now that the wait for Money Heist Season 5 is almost over, we’ve distilled what we know thus far about this frequently unpredictable and fascinating Netflix original.
Money Heist Season 5: Release Date
Season 5 of Money Heist: Volume 1 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 3rd, 2021.
Part 5: Volume 2 will premiere three months later, on December 3rd, 2021.
Season five of Money Heist may have taken its time getting approved, but given that the fourth instalment dominated Netflix’s top 10 list around the world when it was released last year, the renewal came as no surprise. The streaming service has recently cancelled a number of episodes before they could finish their stories, but that was not the case here. Netflix verified on Twitter with a group photo of the cast that filming on Money Heist season five ended in May 2021.
Money Heist Season 5: Trailer
Netflix has already produced a trailer for the first half of the final chapter of Money Heist. Part 5 Vol. 1 looks to be pretty dramatic from what we’ve seen so far! When Sierra (Najwa Nimiri) and the police are about to overwhelm the Bank of Spain’s defenceless thieves, the stakes are enormous. The teaser promises a number of action-packed scenes as well as a number of unanswered questions regarding what will happen next.

Netflix, on the other hand, has yet to release the trailer for the second half of Part 5, which will not be available until December. Keep an eye out for this page in the future. Once the Part 5, Volume 2 trailer is available, we’ll update it.
Money Heist Season 5: Cast
The superb Spanish ensemble that readily convinced the audience that maybe the so-called evil guys aren’t that awful after all is part of the enthusiasm surrounding this Netflix original. Fan favourites such as Berlin (Pedro Alonso), Nairóbi (Alba Flores), and Moscow have already said their goodbyes (Paco Tous). These fatalities were not only unexpected, but also well-known in the unfolding events of the episode, implying that no one in this robbery is safe.
Is this, however, a guarantee that these characters will not return in Part 5? According to what we saw in Season 4, Berlin was very much present in the show through various flashbacks. We can expect him to appear again in Season 5. However, we can’t rule out the possibility of Nairóbi appearing in flashbacks. We certainly hope so!
What we do know is that the following actors will appear in the final chapter of Money Heist:
- Professor (Álvaro Morte)
- Tokyo (Úrsula Corbero)
- Denver (Jaime Lorente Lopez)
- Rio (Miguel Herrán)
- Helsinki (Darko Peric)
- Raquel (Itziar Ituño)
- Monica (Esther Acebo)
- Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna)
- Marsella (Luka Peros)
- Bogotá (Hovick Keuchkerian)
- Alicia (Najwa Nimiri)
- Tatiana (Diána Gomez)
- Arturo Román (Enrique Arce)
- Prieto (Juan Fernandéz)
Ending Notes
Money Heist may be in its final season, but there are some fresh faces on the show. To begin, we have A-list Spanish actor Miguél Ángel Silvestre, who has previously appeared in Netflix originals including Sky Rojo, Narcos, and Sense 8.
Patrick Criado, the youngest member of the group in Part 5, is another new addition to the cast. In Money Heist’s last season, Patrick will play Rafael, Berlin’s son.
As an antagonist, one more new character will be introduced to the series. José Manuel Seda will play Commander Sagasta. He will be a morally tainted military officer who isn’t hesitant to go to any length to secure the accomplishment of his missions.
Despite the announcement of the final season, the Money Heist universe still has a lot of possibilities. All of the characters in the show have complicated personalities that would be interesting to see in a spinoff.
