Before becoming a proud father, Shahid Kapoor signed to play Deepika Padukone’s husband in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming periodic drama ‘Padmavati’. It has been said that Shahid agreed to play the only after a list of some conditions that he wanted to be fulfilled. Though no official announcements have been made yet about the roles but the rumours are doing the rounds about the signing of Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone in the main roles in the film.
Shahid put conditions to work in the Padmavati
Shahid Kapoor had put some conditions in front of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it is speculated that Bhansali has agreed to his conditions. One of his conditions was he wanted equal footing as Ranveer in the film. Sanjay respected Shahid’s concern and agreed to the condition and added some more addressing to his role.
Shahid also asked Bhansali to not begin the shooting of the film right away as he has recently become a father and wants to enjoy the perks of his newest responsibility. He wants to take care of his wife Mira and his newly born daughter.
The role of Padmavati will be played by Deepika Padukone and her husband; Raja Raval Ratan Singh’s role will be played by Shahid Kapoor. Ranveer Singh will also be seen in the film playing the role of Alauddin Khilji.
It is going to be for the first time that Shahid and Bhansali have teamed up. Both seem to be excited about the role. Before signing the film, Shahid had given two hits back to back i.e. Haider and Udta Punjab. Shahid and Ranveer have already started interacting over their gym sessions.
The preparations of the film are in full swing. Grand sets are being created at the Mumbai’s studios. According to a source, “Bhansali will start the shooting in this beautiful palace with a song sometime in September. Prep is on in full swing and the grand set should be completed in the next 20 days.”
