Sanjay Dutt Biopic Release Date: Sanjay Dutt Biopic is one of the most awaited films of the year that is based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. The film was first scheduled to release this Christmas along with Salman Khan’s upcoming film Tiger Zinda Hai. But later it was said that the film will release during Eid next year.
Currently, the maker of the film, Rajkumar Hirani is busy in completing the film with the leads Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in New York. The makers first wanted to release the film in December 2017 during Christmas.
It was recently reported that Ranbir and Rajkumar wanted to release the film in March. But the latest news suggests that the film is scheduled to release on Eid weekend next year.
Coincidently, ABCD 3 is also slated to release on Eid next year. And what makes it even interesting is that Salman Khan will be playing the lead role in the film along with Jacqueline Fernandez as was recently announced by the filmmaker Remo D’ Souza.
Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor do not share a cordial bond after Ranbir Kapoor was involved in a love relationship with Salman’s ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Also, the friendly relationship of Salman and Sanjay Dutt has also gotten sour with time.
So, it would be really interesting to see if Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor will release their film with Salman’s during Eid next year.
Sanjay Dutt Biopic gets a clean-cut image
The film is temporarily named ‘Dutt’ as ‘Baba’ is registered with some other producer. Though, the makers are trying to obtain it. A source recently said that Dutt and team need to work on cleaning his image of a spoiled man.
He further added, “Since he came out of jail, he has been cultivating the family man image with vacations with his wife and twins and no late-night parties. Though he still enjoys his evening drinks, he has them at home. He hardly attends parties and seldom entertains too many guests at home for a sit-down dinner.”
Sanjay Dutt is trying hard to clean up his image but the Hirani’s film focuses on his wild side of the image.
The source said, “Sanju Baba’s drug-phase from his teens and to the early 20s when he went completely amok, forms a major part of the film. Hirani and his writer Abhijat Joshi are now looking at modifying and scaling-down that part of Baba’s life. The incarceration under TADA naturally would be retained — the biopic doesn’t intend to alter the sordid chapters of Sanjay Dutt’s life — but it won’t be very detailed.”
He further added, “There will be duplicitous periods from Sanju’s life defining the biopic. But now the sordidness would be sublimated. The trauma would be toned down. The biopic will be made accessible to Dutt’s young viewers. With drug dealers in Mumbai and Punjab catching them young, it is time for Dutt to tell the youth that it is not cool to dabble in drugs and play with guns.”
