In his recent visit to Kyiv, Sean Penn gifts his oscar to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The actor gave his Academy Award to Zelensky and said,” he can have it until the war is over”.
Zelenskyy posted a video clip of him with Hollywood star Sean Penn on his Telegram channel. The video depicted Ukrainian President Zelenskyy awarding Penn the country’s Order of Merit. In the Clip, Sean Penn gifts his oscar to Ukraine President.
In the video clip, Penn said, “It’s just a symbolic silly thing, but if I know this is here with you, then I’ll feel better and strong enough for the fights”. “When you win, bring it back to Malibu because I’ll feel much better knowing there’s a piece of me here.”
Taking to Instagram Zelenskyy captioned, “came to Ukraine for the third time during the full-scale war already.”
He added, “This time our meeting was special”. “Sean brought his Oscar statuette as a symbol of faith in the victory of our country. It will be in Ukraine until the end of the war.”
As Sean Penn gifts oscar to Ukraine president, in return Zelenskyy gifted him the Order of Merit of the III degree as, “sincere support and significant contribution to the popularization of Ukraine in the world!”

Due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia’s military invasion, actor Sean Penn gave his trophy as support for Ukraine.

He stated his gratitude towards the people of Ukraine, “[It is] already a brutal mistake of lives taken and hearts broken, and if he doesn’t relent, I believe [Russian president] Mr. [Vladimir] Putin will have made a most horrible mistake for all of humankind”.
He added, “President [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people have risen as historic symbols of courage and principle,” he continued. “Ukraine is the tip of the spear for the democratic embrace of dreams”. Penn has won two Academy Awards for best actor in his entire career, the first for 2003’s “Mystic River” and the second for 2008’s “Milk.”
