Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu burst over the rumors of Bikini-clad women surrounding ‘beach love festival’ and said the issue was being ‘blown out of proportion’. He refused the rumors of the beach festival being filled with bikini-clad women, free alcohol and even pop-star Shakira at the port City around Valentine week.
He said that the opposition is making issues to provoke public but the event is specifically organizing to promote the Indian Culture and traditions. “I will be the first person in the government to oppose any move that goes against the Indian culture and tradition. We will keep this in mind while organizing any cultural festival in the state,” said Naidu. He further asserted that festival would be organized to showcase the Andhra Pradesh and promote tourism.
Government wants to leave state’s positive imprint on the world map through beach love festival’
He accused the opposition of raising the issue to damage the image of the state during his address at AP science Congress in Visakhapatnam. CM Naidu said that the government was planning to organize the beach festival in the novel way to leave a positive impression of the state on the world tourism map. The three-day festival will be held in the Port City from February 12, 2017.
TDS criticized YSRC president
While slamming YSR for needlessly stirring up a controversy over the beach love festival, Naidu said Visakhapatnam is going to be a naval hub in the future and damaging the city’s image is not correct.”
The TDS criticized YSRC president Jajaganmohan Reddy’s remarks on the beach festival and Vijayawada central MLA Bonda Umamaheswar Rao said the government was only promoting state’s tourism potential through this event.
“ Jagan doesn’t want development of the state and therefore he is trying to project the festival as something obscene which is not true,” the ruling party MLA said.
