Ever wondered, the long lost planets and galaxies when the universe was formed. Now the scientist can see that, with the help of the most powerful telescope which was constructed by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is 100 times more powerful than the Hubble space telescope. The telescope will help in finding the galaxies that were created in the early universe.
Success after a span of more than 20 years
The James Webb space technologies will be the NASA’s Hubble inheritor which is 26 years old. “This is the only test of the entire mirror where we can use the same equipment during a before and after test,” said Ritva Keski-Kuha.
Due to the sensitivity in Webb infrared cameras, the telescope is needed to be shielded from the rays of sun. NASA created a shield which is five layered about the size of a tennis court to shield the cameras from the heat produced by sun. The shield protects the infrared lenses from the sunlight.
Another feather in the cap
NASA got another achievement when they formed first important optical measurement of James Webb Space Telescope fully assembled mirror. It is known as center of curvature. NASA’s Deputy Telescope manager for Webb, Ritvi Keski-Kuha, further explains that, “This is the only test of the entire mirror where we can use the same equipment during a before and after test”.
Mission to explore long lost universe
The space telescope will further provide the images of the universe which were long lost or the images which were formed in the early time period and they will also explore planets around distant stars. This project will be carried on by NASA, European Space Agency and Canadian Space Agency.
