Gionee, the Chinese smartphone maker has launched its new smartphone in China. The smartphone is named as Gionee Steel 2 and is launched in two colour variants, Black and Gold. Although the device comes in two storage variants 16GB and 32GB but as of now, only the 16GB variant is available for purchase, which is priced at CNY 1299 (approx. Rs 12,800).
The smartphone also houses a fingerprint scanner which is embedded in its home button.
Gionee Steel 2 Specifications:
Display: The Gionee Steel 2 has a full metal unibody design and features a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
Dimensions: The handset measures 144.3 x 70.5 x 8.6 mm and weighs at 160 grammes.
Processor and Software: The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737 processor, along with 3GB RAM, Mali-T720MP2 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system which is wrapped under Amigo UI 3.5.
Storage: As we earlier mentioned that the smartphone will come with two 16GB and 32GB Storage options and both variants can be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
Camera: On the camera front, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with screen flash feature. The camera features also include Autofocus, Geo-tagging, digital zoom, Panorama, Touch focus, Self-timer, Face detection, Smile detection, HDR, Face Beauty, Voice capture, Gesture Shot, GIF Mode, Pic Notes, and Smart Scan.
Battery: The Steel 2 is powered by a 4000mAh Li-Po battery, which claims to deliver up to 28 hours of talk-time and up to 528 hours of standby time.
Connectivity features of Gionee Steel 2
On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G VoLTE, Dual SIM (Dual Standby), WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, a microUSB 2.0 port with OTG, GPS/A-GPS, Infrared port, Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass, and Ambient Light Sensor.
Gionee Steel 2 is a budget phone that is launched by the company now, however, the previous smartphone it launched was Gionee M2017 — which was a premium budget smartphone.
