Mallya loan default Case: CBI visits UB Group offices led by Vijay Mallya
Before nabbing Aggarwal, a team of CBI officials visited the offices of Vijay Mallya-led UB Group. Mallya has been declared a proclaimed offender by a court and also facing the process of recovery of Rs 6,203 core from banks in the kingfisher case.
“A team of CBI officials from Delhi visited the UB group offices in Bengaluru,” a senior CBI official said but did not reveal any details.
UB Group confirmed the visit of the CBI officials to their offices and assured that they were cooperating with them, said UB group spokesperson.
“A CBI team visited the UB Group offices in Bangalore (Bengaluru) today and we are fully cooperating with them,” the spokesperson said.

The visit of CBI officials to UB group offices comes days after the Bengaluru Debt Recovery Tribunal on January 19 ordered the SBI-led group of banks to initiate the process of recovering Rs 6,203 crore at an annual interest rate of 11.2per cent from liquor tycoon and his ventures in the Kingfisher Airlines case.
On March 2, Mallya left the country and he is now in the UK. He has been declared a proclaimed offender by a special people’s Money Laundering Act court in Mumbai on the appeal by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money investigation against him in the alleged bank loan default case.
