OnePlus 3 came out earlier in June this year and was an instant hit. The reason behind this is that it actually was a flagship killer. It offered all the best possible hardware at almost half the price of what its competition was offering. But sometime after its launch, Android 7.0 Nougat was launched. This resulted in many OP3 users demanding the latest OS for their phone. Now, it has been confirmed that OnePlus 3 Android Nougat update is coming.
More about the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat update
A little while back, the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, teased a OnePlus 3 with Android 7.0 Nougat update. This meant that they were working on the Nougat update and that it is coming soon. Now, it seems like the wait is over. OnePlus has confirmed that they will be releasing the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat beta in this month.
They have also said that the public roll out for the same via an OTA update could be expected sometime in December. This is music to the ears of many who were anxiously waiting for the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat update.
New features in the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat
The latest OS offers tons of exciting new features. We have jotted down a couple of points down here. Take a look at them :-
- The split-screen mode allows you to run two apps at the same time. This is multi-tasking in its real essence, isn’t it?
- Notifications have been redesigned in a way to use minimal space to display more information.
- Doze Mode has been further refined to make it much more useful. It will sync the apps periodically when you’re on the move but are not using the device. If the device remains unused and stationary for a long time, it goes into a kind of a sleep. Thus, saving data and battery.
- It is faster. Google did not only work on making new features or the existing ones better, they also made Nougat faster.
- Data saver
- Do not disturb
These were some of the key changes and features that you will see after the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat updates lands.
Also, an upgraded variant of the OnePlus 3 will be launched on November 14. It has been dubbed as OnePlus 3T and it will offer the all the same specifications as the OnePlus 3 with the SoC being the only exception. It will have Snapdragon 821 (VR compatible).
