PM Narendra Modi on demonetisation: PM Narendra Modi said on Saturday at the inauguration ceremony of the Pune Metro project, that if the previous government had taken the appropriate steps to curb the perils of corruption and black money, then there would have been no need for him to take the decision to demonetise the high denomination notes.
Furthermore, PM said that he has saved the country from the gigantic evil of black money.

“If the ills of the country had been tackled on time in the past 40 years, I would not have resorted to such a harsh decision.”

“Those who failed to take the decision have pushed the country to grave peril, I have saved the country as I had promised to do.”
Modi further warned the miscreants and the black money hoarders to abide by the law or else they will have to face punishment as stated by the law. He said that they must declare their untaxed income and then “sleep peacefully”.
He assured the masses that the black money will come to an end in the country and the black money hoarders will “not be spared and everybody will get justice” as he said that post-demonetisation the sufferings of the masses will finally come to an end.
Narendra Modi then talked about his new scheme named ‘Rural Mission’ which is aimed at making the rural areas developed and for the balanced regional growth as well.
“In the rural areas, we will increase the standard of life, employment and will provide same opportunities and facilities as in urban areas.” He said that rather than aiming at immediate political gains, the government should work for the development of the country benefitting it for the long run.
