Republic Day Awards 2017: As the Republic day is heading closer, the names for the people who are going to receive President’s medal this Republic day are now coming up. The state that will receive the maximum number of police medals is Jammu and Kashmir as it will be getting 32 police medals for gallantry as announced on Tuesday.

Republic Day Awards: 777 Medals will be conferred to personnel on R-Day

A total of 777 medals will be given away to the personnel this year. Twelve personnel from Andhra Pradesh will receive the medals, seven medals each to that of Chattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh and four each to personnel from Assam and Manipur.

Republic Day Awards 2017 –

The Central reserve Police force will be given 78 medals; 57 police medals for the meritorious service, 16 for gallantry and five President’s police medals.

The CBI has bagged a total of 28 medals which will include 6 President’s Police medal for the distinguished service and 22 Police medals for Meritorious service. Delhi Police has fetched total 15 medals this year, three for gallantry, two for distinguished service and ten medals for the meritorious service.

The Border Security Force has fetched total 56 medals; 46 medals for meritorious service and five medals for gallantry and distinguished service each.

Furthermore, the central Industrial security force will be felicitated with 27 awards – 14 for Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and 15 for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. One Police Medal will be awarded to Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Statistics and P.I., Ministry of Environment, National Crime Records Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau and the National Human Rights Commission each.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (Intelligence Bureau) will be conferred 32 police medals that include 8 President’s police medal for Distinguished service and 24 for meritorious service. The Railway department will also get 15 medals, 14 for meritorious service and one for distinguished service.

National Security Guard, National Disaster Response Force and Special Protection Force will get four medals each and the North Eastern Police Academy and the National Investigation Agency will get two medals each.
