17 June 2016: An Assam Migrant worker Ameerul Islam (23) has been arrested by the police on Thursday in connection with the killing of Jisha at her residence near Perumbabur in Tamil Nadu on April 28, said the police officials.
As per the reports, it is learned that after 50 days of investigation and nearly 1500 people have been questioned, the prime accused has been arrested in connection with the murder of the Dalit Law Student, Jisha.
According to the source, Ameerul Isam (23) has been working as a contract laborer in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, who was hailing from a native of Naugua District of Assam.
Ameerul have confessed to the crime against the murder of Jisha and the accused will be produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Karuppampady on Friday, said the special team officials.
It is learned that Ameerul have fled away after committing the heinous crime to Assam a month ago and came back to Kanchipuram where he started working again. The police have formally arrested the accused with the help of DNA samples of saliva collected from Jisha’s body and also the bloodstains have match the prime accused, Ameerul Islam. The weapon’s that was used during the murder has been recovered and the clothes he wore on the day of the murder have also been recovered, says the investigation team.
According to the source, Ameerul is in drunken condition when the brutal murder has been taken place. Initially, Ameerul had strike up acquaintance with Jisha during the construction building works of her house.
As per the source, the matter has come to light that prior enmity has led the murder of Jisha. Ameerul and Jisha entered into an argument where Ameerul was slapped by a woman there and after he was found ventured into a spot of where women take bath. Jisha often make fun of Ameerul and as a result he wanted to take avenge on her.
On 28 April, Jisha has been murdered by Ameerul as a part of revenge. He was drunk and attacked her with a knife. Ameerul tried to even sexually assault her and when Jisha refused, the accused caused injuries on her genitals. It is also reported that when the girl was severely injured and asked the man for water was instead offered an alcohol.
After committing the brutal murder, Ameerul has gone to the place where he used to stay and threw the knife on under construction building.
The police have also arrested two other youths and also one of his relative in custody for investigation and questioning.
