Protests were held by teachers following the Nangloi school murder. Mukesh Kumar, a Hindi Teacher in Nangloi school was stabbed to death by two of class 12 students. He was stabbed when a student barged in the classroom and an argument broke out between the two. The student had been previously expelled owing to low attendance. One of the students joined the tussle and eventually the duo stabbed the teacher several times. Mukesh Kumar succumbed to the wounds in the hospital later.

One of the students joined the tussle and eventually the duo stabbed the teacher several times. Mukesh Kumar succumbed to the wounds in the hospital later.
Examinations were brought to a halt. The agitated teachers now demand better security options as they are threatened by the students who have either failed or have been expelled. They also demanded that compensation of Rs. 2 crore minimum be given to Mukesh’s family.
GSTA is also organising a condolence meeting for Kumar at Govt Boys Senior Secondary School, SP Road, Nangloi. Teachers have demanded that Kumar’s statue be installed in the school premises.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has announced a compensation of Rs. 1 crore. to Kumar’s family. He also said that he respects teachers and they should be valued just as much as a soldier at the border.
The teachers have reported that the duo had been creating nuisance since long. Teachers often complained about their misbehaviour. They had also been counselled, but in vain.
However, the two students who had fled away earlier have been arrested, as said by the police.
