A tourist guide and his friends have been allegedly gang raped a woman from America at a five-star hotel in Lutyens’ zone in April this year. According to reports, she approached the Delhi Police with the help of an NGO. Police report stated that they have received a complaint at Connaught Place Police Station, and have initiated a probe into the matter before registering an FIR.
Joint Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak was quoted as saying, “We have received the complaint and are investigating the matter.” According to police sources, the woman was sent a written complaint to the NGO, which informed the police.
“The woman said she came to India in April and stayed at a five-star hotel. She said, she had been approached by a tourist guide to explore the several places and became friends,” said police sources.
A guide and his mates offered her cold drink laced with soporifics and gang raped
The woman alleged he came to her room on several occasions, and the incident took place when she invited him over one day.
“The woman alleged that he came along with a friend and they offered her a cold drink, which was laced with soporifics. When she regained consciousness, she realized she had been raped by several men. She said she was threatened with terrible consequences if she told anyone,” police sources said.
Special police team has been formed to nab the accused
She was scared that is why she didn’t approach police in India. But after reaching home, she told her parents about the incident, and they motivated her to file a complaint, police sources said
A special police team has been formed and an investigation is on to nab the tourist guide. Another team is trying to get more details from the woman.
