Xiaomi, is successful in selling more than 110 million Redmi smart phones since the launch in August, 2013. The data was revealed by Global VP of Xiaomi, Hugo Barra, and is considered as a sell throughout the Globe and is not concentrated to any particular market. It can be considered as a successful milestone for the mobile making company. According to the statistics, the company had sold 1.21 units per second.
In fact, it is predicted the number may increase in near future and is good prospect for the tech giant. As the results of the survey speak, the majority of buyers are young and belong to tage he group of 22-29 years. The buyers are active users of internet and use it for downloading videos, playing games and for socialising on net. After finding the major markets in China, the second biggest market is found in India.
To expand its offline distribution in India, it had partnered with Just Live and Innocomm and is expecting to reach out the huge base of around 5000 offline stores throughout the country. The company also wants to tap the walk-in customers as they are also the potential buyers.
The company is getting stiff competition from Chinese handset makers like Lenovo and Huawei. As Xiaomi missed the shipment target of 2015, so 2016 is a very important year for the company. Despite missing the target last year, it was still the largest seller in Chinese market. Hence, with bright prospects, the tech giant would like to get more market access outside India and China.
