Underworld franchise started way back in 2003 giving Kate Beckinsale a tough woman image in Hollywood. Now, the latest movie from the most anticipated action/horror series is coming in form of Underworld: Blood Wars. The franchise has always been loved by the fans and Kate Beckinsale character Selene is quite famous among the followers. The story is about a vampire who seeks revenge for the murder of her family before getting tangled up in a world of chaos, deceit and challenges. The series received many negative reviews from the critics, but the producers have always made sure that Underworld movie series lives.
Release date pushed
Underworld: Blood Wars, directed by Anna Foerster and written by Cory Goodman will directly follow on the footsteps of the previous Underworld: Awakening which was released in 2012. A few months ago a trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars was also released following the news that, the movie has been pushed to a new release date from its planned schedule in October 2016. Recently, Empire released the new images of the popular movie series which will release within two months.
Kate Beckinsale views about Selene
While talking to Empire, Kate Beckinsale spoke about her character Selene in Underworld; Blood wars. Kate said, “She’s always been really passionate, but now, in a way, she doesn’t really give a s**t. In Blood Wars, Selene is at really low ebb. You see a different side to her. [Her one-time mentor] Viktor has emerged as a traitor. [Her lover] Michael has disappeared. She’s had a baby that she didn’t know about.”
Directorial Debut of Anna Foerster
Director Anna Foerster, who will be making debut with Underworld: Blood Wars was pretty excited about her directorial debut and shared more about the experiences she gained while working on the movie. Foerster said, “With Underworld, you have rules that are very specific to the franchise, but you can veer off from that. What I bring to this movie is a defined visual concept and some cool surprises. I think fans will see a new side to Selene.”
Will movie face Bad Karma?
Underworld: Blood Wars was scheduled to release in October which is considered as the favorite time to release movies. Instead, it was pushed to that period which is said to be the doomed season for films. Director Anna may be thinking other way round but in this case, it seems like Blood Wars is on a mission for the suicide attempt.
Plot for Underworld: Blood Wars
The plot for Underworld: Blood Wars will show a very new Selene, “Vampire death dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) continues her struggle against the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her, with both sides trying to use the blood of her and her daughter to become Vampire-Corvinus hybrids. After hiding her daughter, Selene, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), attempt to end the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, though it may cost Selene her life.”
If this is the time to break all rules than Underworld: Blood Wars is the movie that surely is capable of bringing all the critic gurus down with its pace and the plot, which could prove to be a slap in face to all the people who have negative things to say.
While in other countries like New Zealand, El Salvador, and others it will be released on December 1, 2016. Underworld: Blood Wars will be released in the US on January 6, 2017.
