It came as a surprise that Harshvardhan Kapoor, Son of Anil Kapoor, is the first choice for the best debutant award in several award ceremonies for this year. We are surprised because the movie failed drastically on the box-office and didn’t get good reviews either.
The young actor who made his big Bollywood debut with ‘Mirzya,’ was critically acclaimed by the critics and the entire film industry is raving about his talent and immense potential .
Why are we shocked and not shocked at hearing about this?
Hence it comes as no surprise that the actor is a front runner for the debut awards this season. Harsh has already bagged 2 films with celebrated filmmakers with several other developments in the pipelines.
Despite the fact that movie didn’t work on Box-Office and also failed to impress the audience as well as the movie critics, the factor of having SuperStar Parent can never be underestimated. After all, he is the son of Anil Kapoor. Then we don’t wonder of seeing him getting the award for the best debutant this year.
Another factor is that, if despite criticising the acting potential and skills, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty can get that award then we won’t mind this at all.
Because at least in the sense of acting, the actors were praised widely especially Saiyami Kher was impressive and seems natural. Also, despite the fact that Harshvardhan seemed to have covered very less screen space, but definitely have got some acting potential.
Upcoming Projets of Harshvardhan Kapoor:
The latest addition to Bollywood’s new generation, Harsh chose to make his big Bollywood debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Mirzya’, as opposed to the regular song and dance fare and chose to follow that up with Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Bhavesh Joshi’ which will be followed by Sriram Raghavan’s next.
Talking about the race for the best debutants this year, a source said that “Harsh had much reason to celebrate, he was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike and is already a strong contender for all the debut awards this year. The fact that he has already been signed by two noteworthy filmmakers speaks volumes for the kind of potential he shows.”
