As the New Year arrived, there are many new phones coming in your way in this New Year. And in that row, Asus already seems to be gearing up to launch a host of new devices. Asus’ another yet-to-be-launched smartphone has been spotted online bearing the model number X00GD or to call it Asus X00GD Smartphone.
The smartphone was spotted on TENAA, and seems to be running on Android Nougat out-of-the-box. The listing also includes a couple of images of the device and based on the images, the smartphone could come with a metal body along with a 2.5D glass up front.
What to expect from the device as per the leaked pictures?
Talking about the looks, the new Asus smartphone looks very similar to Xiaomi’s Redmi 3s smartphone with very minute differences. Besides the design, the TENAA certification also reveals some of the specifications and features of the smartphone.
The images listed on TENAA website show the front and back panel of the smartphone. The front panel of the smartphone shows the camera lens on the top and the home button with other controls located at the bottom. The back panel of the smartphone has the camera lens located on the top-left corner. The Asus branding can be seen in the centre. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of the smartphone.

Display: According to TENAA listing, the smartphone is said to feature a 5.2-inch display with a 720p resolution.
Dimensions: The device weighs 169 grammes thanks to the large battery and measures 149.5×73.7×8.85 mm.
Processor + RAM/Storage Variants: The smartphone is said to be powered by an unnamed 1.5GHz octa-core processor. The smartphone is also likely to launch in multiple variants- 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB, or 4GB + 64GB.
Cameras: On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Battery: Out of all, one of the main talking points of the phone is the large 4,850mAh battery.
Right now, there’s word on the availability of the smartphone, but the fact that it has been spotted on TENAA means that the launch is on the card.
Asus has also sent media invites hinting that the company might launch a device, which will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset at CES 2017. However, there’s no word on whether the smartphone unveiled at CES will be the X00GD.
