BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj is once again surrounded with controversies after blaming Muslims for increasing population in the country. The BJP leader is known for his babbler behaviour. “This population rise in not because of the Hindus. The population has risen due to those who support the concept of four wives and 40 children,” Maharaj said.
BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj’s statement was against Code of conduct, says opposition parties
The statement came days after the Supreme Court ruled that no politician or political parties allowed to do vote-bank politics using religion, caste or community of voters. The statement has created havoc for being spoken after the implementation of the moral code of conduct of UP assembly election polls.
Sakshi Maharaj’s statement has been condemned by the opposition parties saying it a violation of model code of conduct. He said that his remarks didn’t have the intention to seek votes as it was a gathering of Sadhus and saints.
BJP distanced itself from his statement
“It was a gathering of ‘sadhus and saints’, where political workers were not present. I did not seek vote during my speech,” he said. However, BJP has distanced itself from his statement. Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that this shouldn’t be seen as BJP’s stand. It is his personal view.
