Sarvann Movie Review: The most awaited Punjabi movie of 2017 has finally released, however, it failed to live up to the build-up and couldn’t win hearts. The movie has been being released under the banner of Purple Pebble Productions that is owned by the Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra.
The famous Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa debuted as an actor in this movie. Amrinder Gill returned to the big screen after a long while, last time we saw him on the big screen was when he appeared in Angrej and Love Punjab.
The movie has been directed by Karaan Guliani and the storyline has been given by Amberdeep Singh starring Amarinder Gill, Simi Chahal and Ranjit Bawa.
Sarvann Movie Review and Synopsis
The movie revolves around Mithu (Amrinder Gill) who’s an NRI living in Canada. His greed for money makes him involved in wrongdoings in Canada. Later he returns to Punjab where he meets Paali (Simi Chahal) and Amreek (Ranjit Bawa). It was on his return to Punjab that he realises that he has been involved in wrongful acts and feels that he has failed as a son as he has not lived up to the expectations of his parents. Mithu finally decides to make the wrongs right and repents all that he’s done wrong.
Amrinder Gill fetches all the limelight in the movie as it is his acting that saves the film. Otherwise, the storyline is unnecessarily stretched and the viewer feels disconnected with the mojo of the movie at times and loses interest in it. Some of the scenes could have been cut short for better.
Mithu’s family has not been included in the second half of the story which renders the movie incomplete. The end of the movie could have been more defined. The only saving grace in the movie is its music.
