Assembly polls in Punjab: On Tuesday, Congress has announced its final list of candidates with remaining three seats for upcoming assembly election in Punjab which is scheduled for 4 February. Inderbir Singh Bolaria who has been chosen to contest from Amritsar South, whereas Manju Bansal is given a ticket to contest from Mansa.

Ticket from Ludhiana goes to Sanjay Talwar, Congress said in a statement. Ending with three names, Congress has filed its all 117 seats by giving tickets to all the deserving candidates of each constituency for assembly polls in the state.
It is worth mentioning here that, Bolaria is a sitting MLA from Amritsar South, who had left the Shiromani Akali Dal and joined Congress in October previous year. Manju Bansal who is the wife of former Congress MLA Manga Rai Bansal while Talwar is sitting Councilor from Ludhiana. Congress has brought out with its heavyweights against top leader of ruling SAD in the Punjab.
Congress’ state president Amarinder Singh will give a fight to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from his pocket area of lambi and also contest from his traditional Patiala urban seat. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party founder and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that Captain is assisting Badal that is why he is contesting polls from his pocket place.

On the other hand, Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu will contest from Jalalabad, which is a stronghold of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. The party has also filed its Amritsar East seat by announcing the name of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu.
This election will be more interesting than previous assembly polls in Punjab with the entry of a newcomer AAP. The three-way fight between SAD-BJP, Congress and AAP will be seen during polls.
