Big news for farmers! Prime Minister Narendra Modi rolled out the ninth installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on August 9th, 2021.
PM- KISAN Scheme
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme became operational from 2018 with the view to supplement the earnings of small and medium category farmers. This scheme coupled with the Digital India initiative has made it possible to reach the PM KISAN benefits to 12 crore farmers in the country.
Benefits
The PM-Kisan Yojna benefits 12 crore farmers across the country. The benefits are as follows:
- The PM KISAN Yojana provides financial benefit to farmers irrespective of the size of their landholdings
- The scheme provides minimum income support up to Rs 6,000 to farmers across the country. The amount is directly transferred to the bank account of the farmers.
Check Status Details
You can check the details of the beneficiary status online by self- registering yourself on the PM KISAN portal. You can also get all the transaction information related to when the last installment was credited to your account on the PM Kisan Yojana Website at pmkisan.gov.in. In an effort to make the benefit reach them directly, the Central government transfers this money to the bank account of the farmers through three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
Here’s how beneficiaries can check the status of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 9th installment:
Step 1: You need to go to the official website of the government https://pmkisan.gov.in/ and then go to the home page.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option. You will get the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option on the top right side of the website.
Step 3: You will see three options i.e. Aadhaar number, account number and mobile number. You need to select any one of these options.
Step 4: Now, click on the ‘Get Data’ option from the drop-down menu and the data will appear for you. You will get all the required information on your screen regarding PM Kisan Samman Nidhi ninth installment.
NOTE- Self-registration can also be done through the Farmers Corner present on the PM-Kisan portal. You will need basic details such as name, gender, age, category(SC/ST), Aadhaar number and other prescribed documents for the identification.

- Landholding eligible farmer families,
- Landholding farmers’ families with cultivable landholding
- Farmers belonging to urban and rural areas and small and marginal farmers’ families can also apply for the scheme.
