Lately, there have been quite a number of speculations and leaks about the supposedly upcoming Samsung Galaxy C9. The latest development on the C9 is that the phone has been spotted on the Geekbench index.
A smartphone with the name SM-9000 was seen on Geekbench and many believe that it is the next device in the Samsung Galaxy C series. A smartphone bearing the same model number was also spotted on Zauba (an Indian import/export website) which was priced at Rs.17,107. Point to be noted: – Prices on import/export websites are only the declared values and cannot be used for anticipating the market value.
Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy C9
Display
According to the listing, the phone has a 6-inch FHD display which crushes the earlier rumors claiming that it will have a 5.7-inch.
Processor and memory
We can also expect a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & 4×1.4 GHz Cortex-A53). The listing also shows the device having 6 GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of storage space. It will be expandable up to 256 GB via SD card.
OS
It will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Other specifications were quite similar to that of Samsung Galaxy A9.
Camera
This will be music to ears of photography lovers because it is also believed to sport a 16 MP snapper on both the sides. The rear camera will also have a dual-LED flash which will not be there along with the selfie camera.
This is the highest amount of RAM in any Samsung device as all other phones sport a maximum of 4 GB RAM. If this device turns out to be the Samsung Galaxy C9 with the above-mentioned specifications, it will be the largest RAM in a smartphone offered by Samsung.
Samsung was expected to launch a 6 GB RAM variant of Note 7 along with 128 GB of internal storage as the company was facing stiff competition from its Chinese counterparts. However, that variant of Note 7 did not become a reality.
What else?
Sammobile in a report said that Samsung might also be working on the Pro variants of the C5 and C7. Both of these will be mid-range smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy C series is currently available in China only. Likewise, we can expect Samsung to launch the C9 in China initially.
Samsung launched the predecessors to the C9 – C5 and C7 – earlier in May this year. The C5 was priced at CNY 2199 and CNY 2399 for the 32 GB and 64 GB variant respectively. Likewise, the C7 was priced at CNY 2599 and CNY 2799 for the 32 GB and 64 GB variants respectively.
All these details have not been confirmed by Samsung. Hell, even the name C9 is not official. So it will be wise to wait for the official word on it. Till then, keep praying that these rumors and speculations turn out to be true.
