Former ‘Riverdale’ actor Ryan Grantham allegedly had plans to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
CBC reports that after Grantham shot his mother Barbara Anne Waite at their Squamish, British Columbia, home in 2020, he packed his car with guns, ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, camping gear, and directions to Trudeau’s Rideau Cottage home in Ottawa.
Complex adds that the former child actor also told police about his plan to kill Trudeau, and had written about it in his journal.
The 24-year-old actor, however, did not follow through with the plan, turning himself in to police instead.
He Wrote About This Plan In His Journal
According to the prosecution, Grantham allegedly wrote about his plans to kill Mr. Trudeau in a diary as well as in a police statement.
Ryan Grantham Confessed…
The outlet adds that after Ryan Grantham decided against driving to Trudeau’s home, he considered committing acts of violence at his former college, Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. He suffered from mental health issues which led to do the killing his own mother.
Ultimately, he decided against it, and that’s when he turned himself in to Vancouver authorities.
That’s How Ryan Grantham Planned To Execute Trudeau’s Murder
The next day of the murder, he wrapped his mother’s body in a sheet, arranged lit candles around it, and hung a rosary from the piano before driving away in a car loaded with guns, ammo, and Molotov cocktails, intending to kill the prime minister.
