A month after Google invited suggestions for the name of their new version; Google has finally declared their chosen name. Yes, Google’s Android N has finally been named Android Nougat. Continuing their legacy of naming it’s newer versions on a chocolaty theme, Google did not disappoint us. Android Nougat will be released by the end of this summer and is presently in its in beta.
The company had already done away with 13 letters of the English language, (M being Marshmallow) and is now on the 14th, N. The first devices to be loaded up with Android N will obviously be the Nexus and the Samsung Edge series will take a while to get there.
While enough has been spoken about its new name, now let’s discuss some of its new features.
- Multi Window Support
Just like in earlier versions, you can split your phone screen in two and use two applications at the same time.
- Reply Directly from Notifications
Now, you don’t have to put away with what you’re doing to stand by to reply to a text. You’ll simply be able to reply from the notification bar.
- Quicker Settings Menu
Once you pull down the notification shade, you’ll find a quicker access to your basic settings.
- Doze Mode 2.0
Your Android Nougat will go into deep sleep when not in use, increasing its efficiency and battery life by folds. It is an updated version of the previous one, and promises to amaze you.
Google believes, with Android Nougat it will be putting its best foot forward towards graphics.
