Hindi Diwas 2016: Hindi Diwas is a very special occasion that is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal by the people as a tribute to pious Hindi language. Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14th September every year to spread the importance of the language among people. Schools, colleges and other organisations organise various activities to raise awareness about the Hindi language.

In the year 1918, at a Hindi literature conference, Mahatma Gandhi asked the authorities to make Hindi as the national language of India. He even called it the language of everyone. On 14th September 1949, the Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi as the official language of India. In order to promote the use of Hindi language in India, Hindi Diwas began to be celebrated in India on 14th September since 1953.
Hindi Diwas 2016 Celebrations
People celebrate this wonderful occasion with great zest and fervour. Like every year, this year too, Delhi will witness great activities and celebrations on Hindi Diwas 2016. Hindi Diwas Samaroh has been organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce in Delhi and one of its special functions is called Hindi Hain Hum.
Honourable President Pranab Mukherjee will also be a part of the celebrations and he will present the Rajbhasha awards at Rashtrapati Bhawan. These awards are given by the by the Department of Official Language of Home Ministry to honour various departments, ministries and Nationalized Banks who have contributed in the field of Hindi.
There will also be an award ceremony for the Hindi teachers, a discussion on the teaching of Hindi language along with Hasya Kavi Sammelan. The present state and the future vision of Hindi are also going to be discussed. Dr Ashok Bajpayee, who is a notable poet, is the chief guest of the occasion and will chair the discussion also. He will also be accompanied by Dr Pradip Kumar Jain, Prof. Dilip Singh, Prof. Krishnan Kumar, Prof. Ramjanam Sharma, and Prof. Sandhya Singh.
