MP Government allots land to Patanjali: After an allotment of 40 acres land to Yoga Guru Ramdev in Pithampur industrial area by Madhya Pradesh government, High Court of MP in Indore has sought an explanation from Shivraj Government. Taking a notice of the alleged serious violation, the business bench of the High court comprising of Justice PK Jaiswal and Justice Verendra Singh directed government to reply.

At the same time, Patanjali’s Brand Ambassador Baba Ramdev is said to be close to MP Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.

No tender was called by the government, Says advocate Mathur

While talking to a leading news portal on phone, senior advocate Anand Mohan Mathur alleged that norms were thrown to wind while allotting 40 acres of land to Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda. Mathur said that no tender was floated by the state government for allocating land worth several crores.

Apart from the allocation of the land, the government has also obliged baba Ramdev while giving assurance that his product will be sold through ration shops and cooperative societies. Advocate Mathur said that the government should have been transparent and a clean procedure for the allocation of land should have been followed.

Mathur told news portal, the land was allotted before October 2016 and once we came to know about it, we filed several RTIs to seek information from the government regarding the procedure of allotting land to Baba Ramdev but the government did not answer out queries. Therefore, we had to file a petition in the High Court.”

It is worth mentioning here that  Pithampur is a big industrial are under the Dhar District of Madhya Pradesh which host various large scale industries and public sector Undertaking. Raymond Woolen Mill Ltd, Tata Steels Ltd, Essar Steel Ltd, Panasonic Battery India co.Ltd is one of the prominent industries there.
