The Korean tech giant is plunging to level from where recovery seems next to impossible. In case you have you are living under a rock and have no clue of what is going on, we will give you a quick brief of events. When Samsung launched Note 7, there were many incidents of the device catching fire or exploding all of a sudden. So, they recalled all the Note 7 units and replaced them for free. They said that they are giving “safe” units to the customers. Now, the safe units have also started meeting a similar fate. As a result, Samsung has temporarily stopped Note 7’s production.

Samsung has stopped Note 7’s production after its safe units of the flagship device also started ending up like this.

Why Samsung stopped Note 7’s production?

We earlier reported that a Note 7 caught fire on a plane and everyone had to be evacuated. There have been a few more incidents (5 according to The Verge) with the safe Note 7 units after that. As a result, Samsung had to stop the production of the explosive phone. This has been confirmed by an unnamed source at one of Samsung’s suppliers.

“The United States is well known for measures taken to consider the safety of Chinese and global customers, including Korea. Samsung is working with international agencies such as Korea National Agency for Technology and Standards, US Consumer Product Safety Commission, and China’s regulatory authorities, I know that the investigation is in progress to determine further action, if necessary, and to cooperate with them in the future,” said an official supplier for Samsung.

The news was first aired by Yonhap News Agency. Samsung has not yet given any official comment on the report. Also, the source did not confirm any date when the production might begin again but it seems pretty obvious that it going to take quite a while now after this has become a public safety concern.

What’s next?

The move to pull the plug on the Note 7 is the right one. However, Samsung might have been a little late. Samsung’s shares have plunged around 3.5% whereas the overall market was down by only 0.1%.

If you own a Note 7, we highly recommend turning it off and not using it. Trust us; we do not want to report another incident.

As far as India is concerned, the Samsung flagship was reported to hit the market on October 28. However, in light of recent events, that might not happen. There has not been any official word on it yet. We will update you as soon as we get a hint of what is next. Stay tuned!
