Xiaomi has been long in the news for all the right reasons. Mi 5s and 5s Plus, Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix. Now, again there are reports surfacing on the internet which suggest that Xiaomi might launch Redmi Note 4 on November 4. Redmi 4A, a cheaper variant of the Redmi 4, will also be launched along with it. Let us have a look at the specifications and features of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.
Specifications of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A
Xiaomi Redmi 4
The device will sport a 5-inch (probably Full HD with 441ppi) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. It will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The device will offer 3GB of RAM alongside 32GB ROM (expandable up to 256GB).
On the camera front, it will offer a 13MP camera (f/2.2, Phase Detection Autofocus and dual-LED flash) on the rear coupled with a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter. It will draw its power from a 4000mAh non-removable fuel cell. The dimensions will be 141.3×69.6×8.9mm and will weigh around 153 grams. It will be available in Gold, Grey and Silver colour variants.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A
The Redmi 4A will also feature a 5-inch screen but will be HD display instead of Full HD on the former variant. It will have 2GB RAM onboard and will be powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor.
The internal storage will be restricted to 16GB with an expansion option to pump it up to 128GB. It is said to bear a 13MP camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It will be powered by a 3030mAh cell.
What else?
Apart from this, there are a few things which might be similar in the two phones. These include OS and connectivity options. Both the phones will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI skin on top. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG.
Both Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A will be dual SIM with support for 4G. They will also have a full metal body. The Redmi 4 will also have a fingerprint scanner at the back which might be missing on the 4A. Fast Charging could also be a part of the Redmi 4 which might or might not be there on the Redmi 4A.
Price and availability of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A
There have been many reports which suggest that the price of the Redmi 4 could be between CNY 799 and CNY 1299 (Rs.6,900 – Rs.12,900). However, there is no word on the price of Redmi 4A. Both of them will be launched in China on November 4 and will soon find their way to India. Unlike the flagships, they will be launched in India.
