Vinod Pandit, Chairman of All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) said Farooq Abdullah was “in a habit of making anti-national statements” while leading a protest and demanding sedation charges be booked against him. He alleged that the former CM has “sided with the separatists”.
“We demand Farooq Abdullah should be booked for sedition for his statement in favor of Kashmiri separatists,” APMCC national spokesman King Bharti too voiced the same concern.

Celebrating the 111th birth anniversary of his father and party founder Sheikh Abdullah at Hasratbal, addressing his party works , he requested Hurriyat leaders not fight among each other but “be united and we are also standing with you”.
He went on to say, “Do not think of us as your enemies, we are not. But we are not ready to tread the wrong path. So, I am telling you from this sacred place that you (Hurriyat) move forward, we are with you till your steps are on the right track and till you take this nation forward in a right manner”.
“This agitation which talks about demanding the rights of the people of Kashmir, NC is with them on this to the extent of them talking about rights. We neither were nor are against (demanding) the rights,” he said.
“Remember this; till this fire is there, it cannot be extinguished till India and Pakistan do justice with us, with the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The more they try to extinguish this fire, the more it will rise,” he went on to say.

Responding to his statements, State Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) blamed National Conference for supporting those behind the unrest in the Valley, which started after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist commander Burhan Wani.
“The statement of Farooq Abdullah proves beyond any doubt that NC and its workers are behind the ongoing agitation launched by separatists and Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in the Valley,” BJP State spokesman Virender Gupta said.
“He needs to come clean and tell whether he endorses stone pelting by youth, burning of schools, calls of bandh(complete shutdown) by Hurriyat which is being observed for the last more than five months,” he added.

Responding to his criticism by the BJP over his recent remarks about the Kashmir Issue, Abdullah said he has never spoken anything against the country.
“Farooq Abdullah has never spoken anything anti-national. This (Kashmir) issue is not my creation. This issue is from 1948, it is not anything new. It is still in the UN Security Council. It is in the agreement between India and Pakistan which Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister of India and Zulfikar Bhutto as Prime Minister of Pakistan signed that Kashmir issue would be resolved through dialogue,” he said.
