Gionee is expected to come up with its brand new flagship smartphone and it is expected to be named as Gionee M2017 and everyone has been waiting for an official announcement. Though the company has now released the first official teaser image of the smartphone now. In the primary teaser, the Chinese actress-director couple Xu Fan and Feng Xiaogang can be seen.
However, you can notice Xiaogang holding a smartphone in his hand, which presumably is the M2017. Other than that, the teaser does not reveal any release date of the phone. But now that one teaser is out, the date of the launch can be expected to be revealed soon.
The Gionee M2017 Smartphone was also spotted on TENAA
Recently, the smartphone was also spotted on the Chinese certification website TENAA, which revealed a handful of details about the smartphone. Even before that, some live images were leaked on Gizmochina. These leaked photos showed that the rear of the smartphone will feature a leather body.
The back panel is also expected to feature a textured gold frame at the top and bottom edges of the device. Joining the league of most of the premium smartphones in the industry, the Gionee M2017 will be featuring dual-camera setup as well. Also, the front panel of the device is dominated by a dual-curved display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, a physical home button at the bottom, and a selfie camera at the top.
Gionee M2017 Leaked Specifications
TENAA also reveals a few specifications that the Gionee M2017 is touted to come with.
Display: The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution (2560×1440 pixels).
Processor: Under the hood will be a 1.95GHz octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM.
Storage: There will also be 128GB onboard storage, but there’s no word on a microSD card slot yet.
Camera: Among the highlights is the dual rear camera setup at the back, which includes a pair of 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors with support for 4X optical zoom. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie and video calling.
Battery: Another highlight of the phone is that the smartphone will be armed with a massive 7,000mAh battery, which the company claims will give up to 23 days battery life.
While there are no launch and pricing details available about the phone yet, the phone does seem likely to carry a heavy price tag. If you take into consideration the model number, it is an indication that this could be Gionee’s flagship device for next year.
