Chan Zuckerberg Foundation Donations: The social networking baron, Mark Zuckerberg has sold $95 million shares of Facebook for charity purposes. He had earlier said that up until 2018 he will be donating $1 billion shares of Facebook each year for donations.
Earlier this year in September, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan had announced that they will be giving up $3 billion to help create a better world and combat diseases. Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan aim at selling 99% shares of Facebook during their lifetime in order to make this world a better place to live in as announced by the duo in December 2015.
Chan Zuckerberg Foundation Donations to better the world add up to another $95 million
Zuckerberg is listed as the fourth richest person in the world by Forbes, whose present net worth is $52 billion.
“If we can develop new tools, we can empower scientists all around the world to make much faster progress and breakthroughs”, said Mark Zuckerberg in September.
Dr. Priscilla Chan said at the same event, “We want to dramatically improve every life in Max’s (Maxima Chan-Zuckerberg) generation and make sure we don’t miss a single soul.”
Both Chan and Zuckerberg had opened up entities named Chan-Zuckerberg Foundation and CZI Holdings LLC for philanthropy. Donations have been made in October and September as well.
