Jalil Mastan: A video of Bihar Excise and Prohibition Minister Abdul Jalil Mastan has gone viral on social media in which he was seen asking his supporter to beat prime minister Narendra Modi’s picture with shoes and also dubbed him as a Naxalite and a dacoit.

He has also received criticism from ally congress leaders for his statement.
During a protest rally against demonetization on February 22, Jalil asked his supporters to beat Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture with shoes.
He is seen hurling verbal abuses at PM Mod while his supporter is seen following his direction to throw shoes on PM’s picture. Masan can be heard calling Modi a dacoit for stealing people’s money after demonetization.
Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar condemned the minister’s action and said, “It is wrong”.
On the other hand, BJP leaders have demanded to kick out Mastan of his ministry and claimed that he has had a history controversial statements and actions that would have landed anyone else in jail.

Jalil has apologised for his comment on PM Modi. “I apologise if my statement or statements of my people have hurt anyone,” said Mastan.
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that he would raise the issue in both houses of Bihar Assembly demanding the revmoval of Mastan.
“One can have ideological differences. But, the Constitution does not allow a person, who is a minister in a state, to incite a crowd and to humiliate a Prime Minister in this manner,” Sushil Modi said. Congress also condemned the action and regret over the minister’s act.
