Apple launched the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus earlier in September. The Apple iPhone 8 is not due for quite a long time but already there have been many rumours and supposed leaks about the same. The latest report suggests that iPhone 8 will come with bigger edge-to-edge, bezel-less display.
What about the report?
A report by Barclays suggests that the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 will have curved edge-to-edge (yes, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge), bezel-less display. The 2017 Apple iPhone marks the tenth anniversary of the iPhone which was started way back in 2007. This is why everyone is expecting big from the Apple iPhone 8.
According to the Analysts at Barclays, the iPhone 8 will feature a curved edge, bezel-less display. However, the screen size will be slightly increased. The standard variant will be replaced by a 5-inch variant and the larger Plus variant will have a 5.8-inch screen instead of 5.5-inch on the iPhone 7 Plus.
Despite the increase the size, the overall dimensions of the phone will remain unaffected because the curved edge display clubbed with the bezel-less design will keep the device restricted to the previous dimensions.
More about the Apple iPhone 8
In addition to this, the iPhone 8 Plus (5.8-inch) will also come with OLED display. The OLED displays are much brighter and energy-efficient as compared to IPS LCD displays which Apple has been using in its iPhones from a long time.
KGI Securities Analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has also expressed the possibility of a 5.8-inch device in 2018. He also said that the 2017 iPhone will not have a home button. He suspects a major overhaul in terms of design along with a glass body.
Also, there are reports of iPhone 8’s Wireless Charging compatibility. It also says that Apple has partnered with Energous to work on wireless charging for the upcoming iPhone. The word on the street is that you will be able to charge the iPhone 8 wirelessly up to a distance of 15 feet.
We earlier talked about a report that hinted at Apple‘s plan to launch a 5-inch variant of the iPhone 8. Are all these rumours interconnected in some way? Will Apple really increase the size of the next iPhone? So many questions but the answers are hard to come by. Stay tuned for more updates for more updates on Apple iPhone 8.
