It has been long debated that the surgical strikes across the line of control might fetch greater hostility from Pakistan for India. It has also been rumored that now it is very likely for Pakistan to attack India. After staying mum for awhile, Pakistan told India that any bad behavior on its part will bring more wrath.
The strategic act of “compellence” by India is likely to ignite retaliation from Pakistan. However, if such a situation surfaces, the repercussions will be faced by both the countries equally.
Pakistan to attack India
It has also been reported that the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence has asked Jaish-e-Muhammad’s terrorists to plan a counter attack on the parliament and some other key places in India. This terrorist group had also planned major terror attacks on India earlier in 2001.
The surgical strikes had been held on sept 28 in retaliation by Indian army for the Uri attack held on Sept 18 done by Pakistani terrorists. Indian army later found out that the weapons used by terrorists during Uri attacks had been issued by the Pakistani army.
Rajnath Singh, Home Minister of India has said that the territory of Delhi will shield itself in case of any terrorist attacks. While he further added that India is never the first to initiate attacks, but once it does bullets fired are not counted.
No country can isolate Pakistan
Of late many of the countries have been condemning Pakistan for the terror attacks and holding it responsible for breach of peace internationally. Thus, Pakistan has been deserted by many of the countries. However, Abdul Basit, Pakistan High Commissioner commenting on ‘Pakistan’s isolation’ said that no country in the whole world can isolate Pakistan. He further said that India should rather work on strengthening its ties with Pakistan.
Amid the rising tension between the two countries, the situation has been constantly worsening and the risk of war has been greater than ever.
